Frequently asked questions.
How do I get to/from the venues?
All Saints Church and the Crown are sited next to each other on the village green and can be accessed by car or taxi. A selection of taxi companies can be found towards the bottom of our About The Day page.
If you are planning on leaving by taxi we highly recommend pre-booking in advance as Saturday nights get very busy.
Where should I park?
There is a car park located at the Crown, however, it is likely this will get busy over the course of the day and evening, especially with their normal guests. Therefore we appreaciate any guests that are able to car-share or able to book a taxi.
Will I have to pay for parking?
The Crown does not charge for parking.
What should I wear?
We want our guests to be comfortable, however, our wedding is a big occasion and we do have a dress code so please keep your jeans, trainers, and t-shirts at home!
Is there a Dress Code?
Yes! Please do follow the dress code listed on our About the Day page.
Are children welcome?
Unfortunately our wedding is for adults only.
Can I bring a date?
Unless it includes a plus one, please only bring those specified on your invitation.
I am coming from out of town, where should I stay?
There are a number of lovely hotels and B&B’s in Bury St Edmunds and the surrounding area. We have given some suggestions on our Home Page, although this is not an exhaustive list.
When is the RSVP Deadline?
We ask that day guests return your RSVP by post or respond online by 31st May 2022.
For evening guests, please RSVP either by post or online by 31st July 2022.
Will food be served?
The wedding breakfast will be roast sirloin of Suffolk beef or vegetarian nut roast (remember to specify on your RSVP!), served with roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, seasonal vegetables & gravy and will be followed by either Eton Mess or Lemon Posset.
In the evening we will be serving a selection of charcuterie, breads and cheeses alongside pizzas freshly prepared in The Crown’s own pizza oven.
What if I have a dietary restriction?
Please ensure you let us know of any dietary restrictions as soon as possible and we will do our best, alongside The Crown, to accommodate you.
Will there be dancing?
Yes! After the cutting of the cake we will have our first dance and then invite you all to join us on the dance floor for a boogie! Remember to send us your song request with your RSVP.
What time will the reception end?
You are welcome to party with us into the night, however, the fun has to end at some point and we kindly request that carriages should be no later than midnight. The DJ will be wrapping up around 11.00pm and last orders in the pub are at 11.15pm.
If you are planning on leaving by taxi we highly recommend pre-booking a taxi in advance as Saturday nights get very busy. A selection of taxi companies can be found towards the bottom of our About The Day page.
Can I take pictures?
In a day of smartphones and digital cameras we know you want to help us capture the different moments of our special day, however, we do request that you refrain from taking any pictures during the wedding ceremony as we want to share the ceremony with our guests and leave it to the professionals to capture the special moment.
After the ceremony, you are welcome to snap away and can share any photos with us at our special online album here!
